COURSE DESCRIPTION

 Comparative Analysis of Human Psychology   (22 Lectures)  Distinguishing between biblical and humanistic concepts

COURSE RATIONALE

This course is designed to provide the student with a foundational understanding of the differences between biblical and humanistic concepts in psychology. This understanding will provide the basis for effective ministry in the area of pastoral care. The student will be prepared to take his or her place in the ministry of the church as it carries forth the work designed by its Savior and Founder.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course:

1. The student will understand the nature of psychology

2. The student will understand the biblical perspective on human psychology

3. The student will be familiar with the personality theories of psychology

4. The student will be familiar with the empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of psychology

 

METHOD OF INSTRUCTION

Instruction methods will include online lectures and assigned bible readings.

Student achievement will be evaluated by a multiple choice exam at the end of the course.
