Sermon Study Questions
Text: Romans 6:4; Ephesians 4:25-32
Purpose: To challenge us to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our daily walk with God..
The Christian baptism is a symbol of our faith in Jesus Christ. When we are baptized we identify with the death and the resurrection of Jesus. Just as Jesus rose from the grave to demonstrate for us the fact that our walk with God does not end when this life ends. The resurrection also demonstrates that our walk with God after we receive Christ should be different than our walk before Christ came into our lives. There should be a difference.Paul explains that the resurrection offers us a new way to walk and a new path along which to walk. But we need to take the Hand of God in order to walk this walk in a meaningful way.Too often Christians walk as though they are still unredeemed. They allow their old nature to lead them down the same old paths that they used to walk.We have been given a new path to walk, but we don’t know this road. That is why we need a guide. And God has given us His Spirit to guide us thru this uncharted territory. To walk in newness we must allow the Spirit to guide us in the vital areas of our lives. But life is so broad, where should we start? Where do we need help the most? The answer is in the text so let’s turn to the text to discover where we need to seek help from God in order to life our lives in a new way!
