COURSE DESCRIPTION

 The Philosophy of Religion  (16 Lectures)  A study of the various religious philosophies

COURSE RATIONALE

This course is designed to provide the student with a foundational understanding of the philosophy of religion. This understanding will provide the basis for accurate biblical teaching and preaching of the Scriptures.  It will also provide the contextual grounding needed  for further biblical studies related to the theology of the Old and New Testaments of Scripture.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course:

1. The student will understand the nature of religion and philosophy.

2. The student will be familiar with the philosophical views adopted in the study of religion. 

3.  The student will understand the need for the biblical student to  address the philosophy  of religion with knowledge. 

 

METHOD OF INSTRUCTION

Instruction methods will include online lectures and assigned bible readings.

Student achievement will be evaluated by a multiple choice exam at the end of the course.
